For a while I have been thinking about how I wanted to display my soaps. I have seen many cold processed soaps unwrapped and think they look great as it is but cosmetic legislation requires producers of any cosmetic good to offer to the consumer such an extensive label with ingredients, warnings and directions that I am always kept as a hostage in that situation. I think our products grew as we grew wiser and more in love with earth and environment. Soap making became not only something I enjoy, I make for sustainability but also a plataform to help people to see how much of our buying choices affect land and body. Packaging became something crucial to the business and after a good searched I found something I am very excited about. I like my soaps wraped. I think it protects them from the environment, touching hands and keep the essential oil blends as its best when people open them at the comfort of their homes. Coming from that idea I decided to wrap my soaps in a ECOWrap. It is a paper made of corn which is 100% compostable. It can go to the compost bin and make the garden happy. But was still stuck with the label part of it. It was when I came across one of my favourite ways to display soaps ever: Plantable Paper Yes....It is a Handamade recycled paper embeded by seed which are attractive to Bees and Butterflies. Once you finish using the soap, check for allergens, ingredients etc you simply plant the paper, keep it very moist and after a few days this is the result of it:
I am very proud to make a product that tries to respect earth as much as it can from the very start of using organic ingredients to the end of it: offering goodness to skin and little beasts.
